went to have lunch with cy, my and fw at Oasis Taiwan Porridge Restaurant 海京楼 @ Toa Payoh Park. (opposite TPY bus interchange)
caiyu recommended the place as she saw the write-up from a mag.
the restaurant was previously located at Kallang and has since moved to TPY after they make way for the development of the Kallang Sports Hub.
The food there was not bad.
We ordered Kangkong Belacan, Fried Sotong Rings, Deer Meat With Onion, 菜圃蛋, Prawns with Cashew Nuts.
Love the fried sotong rings and kangkong belacan.
The prawns that they serve is not those big and fresh prawn but those small and peeled prawns, like those that are frozen?
And they have the unlimited serving of the sweet potato porridge, which cost us freaking 6bucks for a bucket for 4 of us.
So each of us paid $1.50 for plain porridge?
I dont see why they call it Taiwan Porridge when its just simple plain tasting sweet potato poriddge, even my mum can easily cook this.
And the serving is damn small la, we ordered a medium Kangkong Belcan and it seems pretty much the same serving as that of a small deer meat and prawns.
Plus plus plus, other than the service charge and the GST, we were quite shocked when we saw the receipt.
Cause we have to pay for wet tissue, and the appetizers.
All this total up to $60+ for the four of us.
Thought that it was slightly less than value for money.
After the meal, we didnt know what to do so we decided to catch a movie.
CY watched “twlight” already so we went to watch this.
the movie was okay.
yea, its about aliens coming to earth and stuffs.
why did they visit earth?
shall not be spoiler.
i feel that the movie kind of lack a climax.
the movie ended just like that and i was like, “huh, so that’s it huh?"
but i like the message behind the movie.
its is to treasure the earth that we have before it gets destroyed by ourselves.
NEXT up in my movie list will be
TWLIGHT (cy gave 2 thumb-ups for this, she said maybe it was due to the very handsome male-lead vampire),
CAPE NO.7 (my brother sent me the DVD quality version of this, so i guess i gonna watch it at home soon, who wanna join me for this?),
WILD CHILD (i just checked out on this movie and i didnt know that its going to end its screening real soon! argh gonna watch it fast or i will have to wait for the DVDs :( )
not gonna have much of a weekend in the coming week as i have a saturday guardduty.
so i guess i’ll be pretty busy in camp this whole week.
and i’ll be flying to SHANGHAI next next tuesday!
