Channel 8 / Channel U ?


was thinking whether i shld watch Channel 8 / Channel U. (i’ve got no SCV at home so, my channel choices are quite limited).


The former would be a reality show hosted by Quan Yifeng (权怡风) & Christopher Lee (李名顺), featuring less fortunate people in Singapore and how they are given assistance by this group of volunteers to change their standard of livings.

The latter would be a dancing competition show from Taiwan hosted by Chen Chien-Chou (黑人，陈建州) and Barbie Hsu (大S) featuring dancers from all different genres.

In the end i choosed the former, which is Channel 8’s Life Transformers.

The family featured has a really sad story to tell.

A mother of 5 have to raise up her kids which are only aged 5-19.

Worst still, the father, who is the breadwinner of the family, died 3 years ago when he was trying to pick some herbs for her youngest daughter aged 5 from Keat Hong Camp hilly area and he fell and died on the spot.

His daughter is physically disabled and has yet to even call his mum once.

Due to the youngest daughter disability, the mother is not able to work full-time as there would be no one to take care of her youngest daughter.

But the happy fact is that, despite all this that happened, good Samaritans helped by giving donations and stuffs throughout this 3 years.

And it is also the cheerful personality of Mdm Wong that pulled her through all this.



Its really a touching show and i think such shows are like mirrors for us to look at how fortunate we are and we should always be contented with what we have now.
