baked some Layered Egg Tarts the other day.

meaning, the tart part is those layered, 酥皮type and not those biscuit type.

its much more challenging cause you have to prepare 2 different type of dough and you have to roll them out correctly to get the layered texture, something like making a croissant.

didnt take a picture of the inner dough because it was very messy, the owner of the recipe advised me to altered the recipe for use in a tropical country.

Didnt had much confidence that the egg tarts will turn out well as the dough was pretty ugly.

Looks alright, there is some form of layer-ness in the tarts also!~

The taste was superb!

Although the texture could be better.

But i simply love the tart skin, the layered type.

Custard was just nice, fragrant and sweet.

Both the skin and the custard goes so well together …

Egg tarts lovers and bakers must try this out …!
