went to fish at sembawang beach jetty.

that day’s catch, biggest fish that i’ve caught so far!

fishing very exciting lor!

coz whenever i cast my lines, i’ll put a bell on my rod and when fishes bites on my bait or when they attempt to steal my prawn bait, the bell will go “ring ring”

its so exciting la, then i’ll go pick up the rod and quickly do a jerk action, hoping the fish will get hooked, but most of the time, the fishes are faster than me and always manage to escape away with my prawn bait.

initially, i tot my rig/hook was stucked underneath the rocks.

whichever directions i tried pulling, my rig was stucked in the seabed, not moving even an inch.

i rmb reading, sometimes the fishes will swim and hide underneath the rocks when they are hooked on.

so i tot, let loose the line first, maybe the waves will push my rig out of the rocky seabeds.

then after letting loose, i tried to reel in again and guess what, there was a great struggle!

so i quickly reel in, thinking, this time it’s gonna be big liao!

then here comes 2 fishes!

the bigger fish which i identified as “John’s Snapper”(click for info) and the other small one(the brown and ugly one) at the 2nd hook.

what’s more, the rig i tied entirely by myself lor!

the hooks, the main lines bla bla all i buy myself and tie one.

haha.

guess my this snapper is still young, but its a accomplishment liao lor …

all the uncles at the jetty was like woah woah~

oh ya forgot to mention we got a catfish before this fish.

not a very big one, but as mentioned in my previous post, catfish has poisonous fins (for other list of dangerous fish in SG, click here) on the dorsal and got one uncle at the jetty super paranoid.

see the catfish quickly ask us cut away the poisonous thorn and even asked where the thorn went when it got snapped away.

it was much smaller than the size of a fingernail lor and since it’s snapped away liao it wont poke people anymore!

then the uncle told us to throw back the catfish into the water –_-

i see other uncle catch bigger catfishes also keep for themselves …


brought the fish back home.

gonna ask my mum steam steam see if got meat a not.

haha.

for crabbing, no good no good, no big crabs de!

i got to like empty the cage of young crabs like 4-5 times.

and each time there’s like 4-5 young crabs inside.

but got one particular chinese uncle got quite a lot of big flower crabs.

guess i gonna go buy their type of crabbing net, increase the chance of getting more crabs …


hope that i can go fishing soon!

tied another set of rig, and bought new, sharper, bigger hooks and attached to my rig le, hope this time round those fishes wont always eat away my prawn bait and manage to get away with it!
