First heard about prawning thru the Taiwan shows where they have the 钓虾场.

Then my very 1st try came, a few months ago, when my army mates brought me to somewhere in bishan to prawn.

Today is my 2nd time prawning! Was excited :D


Bottle Tree Park is just a 10mins walk away from Khatib MRT.
You can see the park if you travel on the MRT along Khatib and Yio Chu Kang Station. Its located near the reservoir.

Charges is 1 hour for $14.90 and 2.5 hours for $29 and so on. Rod, bait, net, grilling station provided.

This prawning pond at Bottle Tree Park is not as big as the one in Bishan lor.

This is only like the size of 2 badminton court?

And the amount of prawn catch is quite pathetic.

In Bishan you can see almost every minute any other people will get their catch while at here, we only saw the pond’s first catch after we prawned for like 10mins?

We were quite sian lor. Coz we didnt manage to catch any prawns for an entire hour?

Then our first catch came from weiyang!
Then came his second, and his third.

And the other 3 of us got none!

Then finally, the last 30mins, came my catch!

And it ended up that my prawn was the biggest size la! Haha. The prawn even went to prick weiyang with its antennas.

I realised that you must really slowly play with the prawn, like what weiyang say, to let it have time to nimble and then bite on the hook.
Many a times, we felt the rod been pulled but when we tried to rise up the rod a little, the prawn would have escaped already.

So, 4 prawns was our total catch that day, after 2.5hours. Lousy sia!!

Next time must visit the bishan pond.

Wah. As i poke the giant prawn, i can feel the entire prawn’s body shrink its body in pain and when i poked through the head part, the prawn eyes like gonna pop out anytime like that.

Sorry prawny, i spent quite a lot of bucks to finally get you.

They are fast, its the first christmas tree i saw this year.

After that, went on to have supper back at sembawang.

Wanted to have supper at old place. But our soldiers who just booked out this afternoon was too tired to walk all the way there so we decided to settle at a nearer place which is sun plaza!
