WARNING!!!this is a long post.
went for a supper trip with my secondary sch clique ytd.
was a rather boring day as my rock-climbing session was disrupted by the afternoon thunder and showers!
the worst thing you can ever get for rock-climbing is to see the sky turns
dark.
and its not the first time our climb session got screwed up by the rain.
for 2 times we had to go for the wet-weather claim which entitles u a free climb(not really free, we're just wasting another trip to repay back the disrupted climb) within 2 weeks.
maybe we shld turn to the indoor climbing facilities next time.
but ill be missing the sun and the sweat you gonna have after the climb :(
some sports just need to be done outdoor ...
but still, if its indoor, there will be no worries about the weather.
pros n cons :(
k back to the supper trip.
was kinda of a messy outing.
alvin couldnt make it last min due to sore eyes.
and cy was super late, later for like 2hours+.
we waited at sunplaza's mac with my lappy.(shld've brought the charger)
and my lappy lasted us for an hour+
so me wy and fw watched GMA 2008 at mac.
they presented the best male and female singer and also best chinese album award when we were there.
gary cao got the best male singer, kinda expected and must admit that he deserves the award.
tanya chua clinched the best female singer for the 2nd time. she really emerged into a very mature singer after all this year.
the least expected would be the best chinese album -_-
karen mok won the award!!i didnt even listen to her album and all the other nominees like soda green, jay chou, stefanie sun, tanya chua and amei has more better albums than her.
shes really a black horse. was expecting soda green/stefanie sun to win the award. (not to be biased but i think niguang is really a versatile album. while soda green has a unique taste in their album. simple, yet full of substance.
okay and so, after watching gma 2008, my lappy went out of battery too.
so we stroll to 7-11 to buy some snacks. and went to the mrt station to wait for CY.
finally, cy boarded the last train back to sembawang -_-
then we slowly walked to the old sembawang shopping center area(its currently been renovated and a brand new sembawang shopping center will be opened around 1st quarter of 2009)
there are many shophouses there with malay and indian food stalls which opens 24hours :)
on the way there.
cy was telling us she want to give herself a christian name.
she said she wants to be called "rachel"
then wy pop out and say that rachel is not suitable for cy's "feel"
i think rachel sounds okay on her.
at least its not some names like sussie, maria, mary, oops. no offence!!!
cy was teasing me calling me clement, clement.
coz i once told her that "clement" sounds nice and told her that i wanna change my name to clement.
then i was telling them i have another name, larry, back in camp.
we were bored during ops last time and we started experimenting names with my surname and larry kiat sounded not bad
so i have many names under my list now.
-larry
-clement
-benedict (my dad gave me this christian name when i was young, my bro is called edwin. lol. not many ppl know abt this except for close friends, now that im disclosing it ~_~
oh and my maybank colleagues know abt it too because they say having a christian name would be easier to be rmbed. and i told them mine :( )
-ben (shortterm for benedict, easier to introduce myself too.)
-ying xin
-hard-hearted /hard-heart (this comes from my blogname, i initially gave my blog this name because my chinese name is
应鑫 and ppl tends to mispronounce as
影星(same prounciation as the original word) and if u read out
应鑫 and you literally translate the words, it becomes hard heart/ hard star.
lol.
i cannot call myself hard star right.
so i thought about hard heart and so, i named my blog hard-hearted.blogspot.com !
haha.
kk, enough about the jokes.
i still prefer my chinese name and the christian name my dad "officially" gave me :)
i believe you shld stay on with what you are given, for names too.
its all destined, if you are given a ugly name, so be it, its still ur name and a ugly name doesnt mean a ugly or screwed up life.
i totally dont believe in what changing names to change your fate/luck.
thats crappy :(
okay lets continue.
so we went to our usual shop and i wanted to order maggi goreng.
but the person said it was out-of-stock. (shows how delicious it is. maggi mee can be super tasty too!)
so i asked for kuay teow goreng and he said the indian kuay teow goreng is not avaliable today and only seafood kuay teow is avaliable.
hmm seafood, i love seafood too. so i settled with that + a gosong prata + teh tarik ( a must-have combination whenever i visit that stall for supper)
(not the actual pic, but looks similar)
the seafood kuay teow was nice. and cy tasted it and think its nice too!
but the only "seafood" that was inside the "seafood" kuay teow was only prawns. but they got like 5 prawns.
=D
loves prawns.
(not the actual pic but looks similar)
i think the reddish colour of the kuay teow is becoz of the tomato sauce that they added.
the sourish and saltish taste compliment each other well!
as we were "suppering" we started on a topic.
yes, yet again, another topic.
we were saying when each of us will get married and what type of girl/guys do we will fancy.
cy, or shld i call rachel. was saying wy would most probably get married first becoz he would be those that deem a certain age to be the marriage stage and a person shld get married at that age.
and that fw would most probably be married and until one fine day he will suddenly realise that
"HUH, IM MARRIED ALREADY!?"
haha. okay jokes aside.
we were also discussing what will you look for, in your spouse.
wy was saying looks are quite impt as you will be seeing his/her face for the rest of your life.
rachel on the other hand, wouldnt mind how the other part will look so long as he is confident of himself and presents himself well.
while for me,
the looks is most important :(
maybe when i grow up, ill look for some other aspects.
after finishing our food, we walked back home and reached home at ard 2:45am.
gonna try nasi goreng and milo dinosaur next time :)
today, my mum made this.
爱玉 which is something like the ice-jelly desert we have in dessert shops.
she bought the DIY package from the taiwan fair from sunplaza.
you gonna soak it in water and squeeze it to release the solution out. thats what my mum told me o.o
she said 3 such packets cost her $20!?
but she explains that its imported all the way from taiwan and 1 packet can make a big tray of 爱玉.
omg so damn exp la. in taiwan we had this and it cost only $1.50 for a big cup of lime 爱玉 ice with pearls. they call it 青蛙蛋, if i never remember wrongly because the pearls in the drink looks like frog eggs.
My secondary school mates!listen to this and tell me if you rmb it ;)
coz i didnt quite remember it!Highlight the space below to get the hint!
A new day brings us faith to face the challange
Let the seeds of knowledge set our minds aglow
A new day brings us strength to persevere
Let the will to give show our hearts of gold
We will challange conquer and contribute
with our thoughts and actions we will reach our goals
The hopes and future are in our hands
we will never stop aspiring never stop believing
For we take pride in Canberra Secondary School
