《我很忙》Album Review

Im here to write a "album review" as what the title reads. Althou this album is not yet officially released in SG, im here to give u guys a little preview for those who have not yet hear the album and might consider preordering one(preorder for SG is until 5/6th of Nov, free gift is a calender).

As usual, the 主打歌 always give us a shock. Last year was 千里之外，a collaboration with 费玉清. Normally u wont see a new generation pop idol 合唱 with a oldies singer(not saying tat 费玉清 is not good). This year, in his latest album, he again never fail to shock us with his rather unique 曲风，mexico牛仔风. As u guys have alrdy heard, there are 2 extreme views abt tis song,牛仔很忙. One group would super love the song and would treat it as a 新尝试 by jay as alot of musician always comment tat jay is not creative and his music are all of the same kind. On the other hand, ppl would comment tat this is a lousy try by jay as the tune is sucky, it sounds like 儿歌 and his pronounciation sucks and we dunno wat the hell he whining abt in the song.
Nonethless, for me, its a new try by jay and we shouldnt be too sad abt it as the song has a catchy tune perhaps we shld listen to his other songs in the album b4 we conclude tat this album is a lousy one.

THe 2nd smash hit, 彩虹, is a typical type of 抒情歌. i cant really find anything special in this song and seriously i think its just another love song. But perhaps the commendable part is 作曲和作词 is both by jay zhou.

The 3rd smash hit in taiwan currently is set as 我不配. FOr this song i must really say more abt it. Althou its another 抒情歌, but its v. diff. Its again a v.jayish type of song. Which is why we choose to buy jay's album one after another, we wan the jayish factor in his song. (PS: i wonder why are ppl complaining why jay is keeping to his old style) Jay mentioned in a press conference tat this song's lyrics is agreed by many singers in taiwan. However i've not figured out wat the lyrics really meant tat made so many singers agree with him. Perhaps anyone can enlighten me? bev maybe? Seriously, this is a must-listen song for those who love jay's oldies like, 暗号，晴天，回到过去，简单爱。Not saying tat they are similar but the jayish style IN THEM. This would be my no1 favourite so far.

2nd favourite song in my list would be 阳光宅男. The 曲风, i dunno how to explain well, but it gives me a sort of playful oldies feeling. After listening to this song, it would give me a picture of a room filled with old toys, a retro electric guitar and retro stuffs with jay, having a retro hairstyle singing inside. This song is so retroish. This song is counted as a 轻快song, and as the title says, its abt 宅男. For some who dunno wat is a 宅男, its similar to a "nerd", or a guy who loves to stay at home, who love to watch anime and comic books, dislike going out, love computer games, and also doesnt care much abt his own personal image. In this song, 方文山 writes, how 宅男 behaves, how they those wallet chained to pants, how they wear a pair of long jeans when they go for beach activities,how they bring their own water bottle when they go for bbq. And in the 2nd part of the song, 方文山 encourages them by saying how they gonna help them this time and change their image and bla bla so that they can 把妹. Basically its a rather cute and happy song!

Another song with a similar 曲风 would be 甜甜的. Its another v.轻快 song with abit of jayishness. A slightly above average attempt by jay. What i like about this album compared to the previous one is this album has got lots of 轻快 songs unlike last album's 红磨坊, which i hate alot. lol.

Okay, enough abt 轻快 songs! Now comes a songs, 扯, which sounds abit like 本草纲目？There is a lot of rap in this song arh. But however, its a beaty song and the tune suits my taste, if u get tired of 轻快songs, heres something to kill the 腻腻的感觉.

And jay's favourite, or we can say, jay started this trend of 中国风 songs. He never fails to include 中国风 ever since like dunno which album. This album 中国风 song would be 青花瓷, which would probably mean china's ancient porcelain. The song title is china enuff and the lyrics, again by 方文山 is full of cheem words and is vv.poetry style. Just like 东风破，菊花台. So, good luck when you sing this song in KBOX! haha.

The next song is sort of special, it is the tune from 《不能说的秘密》 OST, <小雨寫立可白>.
蒲公英的约定 找来了方文山来填词. As the tune is from the movie, naturally you will be reminded of the scenes in the movie and therefore would accept this song more easily. In addition, the tune is also well-done, althou the title sounds abit old-fashioned.

Basically, i would reconmend this few songs, other sounds are ... hmmpph.. perhaps other ppl would love those songs ? Who Knows!? so preorder the album at all major music stores nowW! Hope that you like this review. :)
